EDCC 2020 will be held at the H4 Hotel Messe Munich. H4 Messe is an ideal location for a conference. The district “Messestadt” has through out its time held countless conferences and exhibitions. The area has easy access for participants and other stakeholders with both care and public transport. Facilities are great, incl. parking, accommodations and shopping.

Travel
By plane
Munich is served by Munich Airport, also known as Franz Josef Strauss Airport. Located only about 45 minutes from venue location and about 40 minutes from city centre it is one of the busiest airport in all of Europe, linking almost every continent to Central Europe. It is derviced by a number of major airlines, with Lufthansa leaving the absolut biggest footprint on the airport, but the airport also hosts a number of low-cost carriers. Among the latter is Easyjet which connects Munich to several European cities, including London, Paris (Orly) and Berlin.
The Airport is very good connected to Munich. In the heart of the Airport you will find a subway station with direct lines to the city centre. A one way ticket here to the city centre costs 11.60 EUR. But it is recommended to by a multiple day ticket or if possible a group ticket.
You can buy these subway/metro tickets at every station. At the picture to the right you can see how the machines look. They are very intuitive and the language can be modified. What tickets you should buy depends of course on what you will use it for. At the following link you can find all of the informaiton regarding where the tickets are valid and where they are not. Munich Transport and Tariff Association (MVV) Here you will need to press on "Network Maps" to see the lines and stations or "Tariff Maps" to see that zones and/or areas your ticket are valid in.
When you arrive at Munich Airport and need to go to the venue location, here are the directions:-
Take the S-Bahn-train S8 towards “Weßling (Oberbay)” and detrain at “München-Daglfing”. From here, take the Bus 183 towards “Messestadt West”. Exit the bus at “Paul-Henri-Spaak-Straße” (Bus stop) and walk 100 meters Along “Olof-Palme street” in a southern direction.
By train
There are two major intercity train stations in Munich. The Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) and Munich East station (München Ost). With The central station being the biggest in Munich. By train there are connections to most big cities in Central Europe including Vienna, Paris, Cologne, Berlin and many more. The Central Station is located in the middle of Munich and from the moment you step out of the train doors, you will sense the atmosphere of a city in movement. When you arrive by train. you will again have to buy a ticket, as described in the above section.
When you arrive at The Central Station and need to go to the venue location, here are the directions:-
Take the U2 towards “Messestadt Ost”. And detrain at “Messestadt West”. From there it is a 500-meter walk along the “Olof-Palme Street” in a northern direction
By car
Munich is directly directed to the A8, A9, A92, A94, A95, A96 and there is a highway (A99) surrounding Munich and working as ring road for all incoming traffic. The easiest way to get to the venue location by car is to connect to the "Munich East Highway cross" (A94/A99) from here you can drive directly against the heart of Munich and on the way you will take the road exit "5 München-Riem" and drive in a south wards direction on the "An Der Point"-street then you will see the H4Hotel Munich Messe building only after a few hundred meters. So if you want to experience the German Autobahn, just jump into the car and drive towards Munich.

Public Transportation
Public transportation in Munich is highly recommended. A single ticket costs 2,9 € and a full day-ticket costs 6,7 €. It is also possible to purchase group-tickets and a ticket for several days.
We recommend the München Navigator App. In that you can purchase tickets with either linking up your credit card or your PayPal-account. You can view the overall map of both the Tram, S-train (Subway) and U-train (Metro), see the current status of the specific train line, it has a trip planner and can therefore figure out the fastest and easiest way.

Biking
Munich is a very bikefriendly city. MVG (Munich transportation company) offers bike rental. A service where you can jump on a bike oall over town and then just place it anywhere when you do not use it anymore.
